Introducing Mentorship Program

A mentorship is a relationship between people where the individual with more experience, knowledge, and connections is able to pass along what they have learned to a more junior individual within a certain field. The mentor benefits because they are able to lead the future generation in an area they care about and ensure that best practices are passed along; meanwhile, the mentee benefits because they have proven that they are ready to take the next step in their career and can receive the extra help needed to make that advancement.

The benefits of mentoring go way beyond the mentee’s self development, positively affecting the mentors themselves as well as the organisations they work for. Mentoring has the power to accelerate our self-development, career progression, and overall confidence. It’s therefore pretty surprising that only 37% of professionals have one, particularly as so many successful people praise and recommend mentorship.

And Reveurse has done mentorship programs for students. Our main goal is to achieve career networking between students and companies outside with the need of skilled employees. Reveurse prepares the mentorship program for both students and employees of any field and any specification. We can also per request on specific topic or general mentoring. This can include hand in hand with career counseling, soft skills and many other related topics. Reveurse prefers proving mentorship to students who are about to enter the labour market, it makes it easy for both the clients (companies and organizations) and students to acquire what the need that is qualified employees and jobs respectively.

We visit students in different schools and institutions to provide mentorship because mentoring can help students develop new skills, build a larger network, reflect on and solve past scenarios, and have an example to look up to. As well as for an organization, mentoring can help mold new hires culturally, and instill loyalty in employees, thus reducing the employee turnover rate. So far, Reveurse has conducted mentorship program to VETA students located at Chang’ombe Road, Dar es Salaam Tanzania. Programs provided included; Soft Skills, Career Development as well as teaching students how to prepare well drafted Curriculum Vitae, which are modern and with high standards. But we also provided certificates to students that participated and ensured there are guest visitors to talk and connect to them. This will boost networking between the two parties.

VETA was our first but not the last, many more programs are on planning mode and yet to be achieved. We are expecting to mentor as many students and employees as possible.
