Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to product quality or delivery.
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of all restaurant goods, including food, beverages, and non-food items.
- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and manage stock levels effectively.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies to meet the restaurant’s needs while adhering to budget constraints.
- Place and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Review and approve invoices and purchase orders in coordination with the finance department.
- Analyze market trends and pricing to forecast and manage procurement costs.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Develop and monitor budgets for procurement activities.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct quality checks on products and ensure they meet the restaurant’s specifications and standards.
- Work closely with the culinary team to understand their requirements and preferences.
- Coordinate with the kitchen staff to forecast future needs based on menu changes or special events.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of goods and services.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, including spending analysis and inventory status, to senior management.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on procurement data and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field preferred.
- Proven 2 – 3 years of experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar role within the food and beverage industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and quality control practices.
