Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure Coordination between organizations.
  2. Provide Technical advice on project management (design and planning) to ensure time-efficient implementation of the project activities to fulfill the project objectives.
  3. Ensure relevant data on project activities is collected, reviewed, and analyzed.
  4. Ensure quality in monitoring and reporting of project activities (including data collection and analysis for the project).
  5. Ensure project and activities compliance with the organization.
  6. To work hand in hand with organization staff to ensure organizational sustainability.
  7. Assist with daily administrative duties and complete a variety of administrative tasks that include managing an active calendar of appointments; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence; arranging travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; and compiling documents for meetings. 
  8. Communicate with members on the Chairperson’s behalf and coordinate logistics of high-level meetings both internally and externally.
  9. Assist in strategic engagements and fundraising activities (including funding proposal preparation).
  10. Communicate directly and on behalf of the organization with Board members, donors, foundation staff, and others on matters related to programmatic initiatives as directed.
  11. Draft reports, letters of solicitation, and proposals; prepare and coordinate oral and written communication with donors and prospective donors.
  12. Coordinate Executive, Finance, Governance & Nominating, and Audit Committee meetings; maintain confidential files and contact information; coordinate meetings, conferences, and committees both on and off-site to support agenda.
  13. Represent YWE in designated meetings as required. 
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree with a social sciences background or any other relevant degree.
  2. At least 5 years’ experience working and providing support to upper-level management in related organizations.
  3. Experience in coordinating programs/projects and fundraising activities
  4. Experience in working with youth associations.
  5. A good understanding of gender and youth mainstreaming in Trade and development policies in developing countries.
  6. Ability to conduct research and present data.
  7. Fluency in both Swahili and English.
  8. Excellent computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, database, presentation, etc.).
  9. Excellent writing and analytical skills.
