Qualifications:
- Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during client meetings, negotiations, and legal proceedings.
- Ensure accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation of legal discussions.
- Translate contracts, litigation documents, regulatory texts, and other legal materials with precision.
- Maintain the integrity of legal terminology and nuances in translation.
- Assist legal teams in reviewing and interpreting Chinese laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
- Support compliance efforts by ensuring translated documents align with legal standards.
- Ensure clarity and professionalism in all translated communications.
- Facilitate communication with Chinese-speaking clients regarding legal obligations and rights.
- Assist in explaining legal documents and procedures to clients in their native language.
- Ensure strict confidentiality in handling legal documents and sensitive information.
- Maintain organizing bilingual records of translated documents and legal materials.
- Assist with legal filings, notarizations, and documentation processes.
- Stay updated on changes in the legal industry and relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Law, or a related field.
- Certification in Chinese translation (preferred).
- Fluency in Mandarin and English (both written and spoken).
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and principles.
- Prior experience in legal translation or interpretation.
- Excellent attention to detail, professionalism, and discretion.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience working in a law firm or legal department will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of international legal systems and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
