Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  2. Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
  3. Develop and maintain accurate cost-tracking systems for exploration, production, and operational activities.
  4. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  5. Monitor actual expenditures against budgets and provide variance analyses.
  6. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including reporting requirements for royalties, production taxes, and environmental levies.
  7. Prepare reports for government and regulatory bodies such as the Department of Energy or SEC filings (if applicable).
  8. Manage vendor payments, invoice processing, and account reconciliations.
  9. Oversee billing processes and ensure timely collection of receivables.
  10. Handle accounting processes for joint ventures, including cost-sharing allocations and revenue distributions.
  11. Prepare and review joint interest billing (JIB) statements.
  12. Track fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and impairments.
  13. Maintain accurate records for wells, pipelines, and other infrastructure investments.
  14. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  15. Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration with relevant Tax, and accounting qualifications.
  2.  3 years experience working in retail filling stations (Petrol stations or CNG stations)
  3.  Knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
  4.  Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  5.  Knowledge in Inventory / Stock management.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, Customer care, and communication skills both in Swahili and English.
  7. Excellent user of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  8. Business knowledge in the Oil and gas industry or experience from a fuel filling station will be an added advantage.
  9. Must be a person of high levels of integrity.
