Responsibilities
- Responsible for all supervisors, waitrons, runners, and cleaners on the floor.
- Responsible for ensuring all SOPs of the teams are being followed to the dot
- Responsible for rostering of service staff alongside the HR and is solely responsible on following up on their attendance.
- Report all uniform requirements to the relevant parties (Operations manager)
- Perform orientation and training for service staff upon hiring.
- Spot the needs and requirements of the service team and ensure they are met to the professional capability of the company
- Coordinate and Facilitate training of service teams
- In charge of identifying, advising on, and ensuring bottlenecks and weak links are sorted out on the service front whether by collaborating with other subgroups in operations or escalating noticed issues to the Operations manager.
- Prepare reports on the progress of service and on individual personnel to the Operations manager to assist in evaluations
- Create alongside the Operations manager and HR manager a reward system for the service teams e.g. Sales targets.
- Communicate and Implement HR policies and procedures to the service team
- Ensure all staff have the necessary requirements that allow them to be on the floor e.g., Notebooks for waiters, Uniforms (Clean, Ironed) Nametag.
- Notify security on (L) so anyone without can be sent home (Follow up procedures to be done to understand why and if need be, the individual to be held responsible)
- Ensure all parties within the department are treated fairly and are given equal opportunity.
- Ensure all parties necessary sign in upon arrival
- Enforce discipline, customer care and staff smartness and cleanliness
Requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Tourism with marketing skills is preferable or related field.
- Proven experience in Hotel floor management, with a minimum of 3 years in the related role.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to handle and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with team members and customers.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a restaurant setting.
- Proven ability to identify the needs and requirements of the service team and address them effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve bottlenecks and weak links on the service front.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to enforce discipline, staff smartness, and cleanliness to maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Proficiency in Kiswahili and English is required, and additional foreign language skills are beneficial.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
