Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage daily workshop activities to ensure efficient operations and adherence to schedules.
- Coordinate, allocate, and monitor workloads for workshop staff, ensuring quality and timely completion of jobs.
- Maintain the workshop in a clean, safe, and organized condition compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Oversee repair, servicing, and maintenance of equipment and machinery to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical support and guidance to workshop personnel, addressing any issues or challenges as they arise.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and quality control standards.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of all workshop-related activities, maintenance logs, and inventory.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Track and manage the inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables to ensure availability when needed.
- Develop and manage workshop budgets, monitor expenses, and optimize resource utilization.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions to motivate and motivate and upskill staff.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with other departments regarding project timelines and technical requirements.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement strategies for enhancing operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Proven work experience of 1 to 5 years in workshop management, mechanical operations, or a similar supervisory role.
- Fluency in both English and Swahili is essential – verbal and written communication.
- Strong managerial skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
- High level of loyalty, honesty, and trustworthiness; upholding the integrity and values of the organization.
- Must be aged between 25 and 38 years.
- Must provide a valid Police Clearance Report as part of the recruitment process.
- Sound understanding of workshop safety procedures, equipment handling, and maintenance best practices.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for effective teamwork and leadership.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and workshop management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
