Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute operational strategies to optimize breeding programs and meet production targets.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including veterinary services, supply chain, and sales.
- Implement breeding plans focused on genetic improvement, animal welfare, and sustainability.
- Analyze performance metrics of breeding programs and drive continuous improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of breeding activities and outcomes.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of breeding professionals and operational staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide mentorship to team members.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, animal welfare standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Establish and monitor quality assurance protocols for breeding operations.
- Prepare and manage budgets for breeding operations.
- Oversee procurement and maintenance of equipment, facilities, and supplies.
- Optimize resource allocation to achieve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including farmers, suppliers, and research organizations.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums.
- Identify potential risks to operations and implement mitigation strategies.
- Develop contingency plans to address emergencies or operational disruptions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years in breeding operations.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale breeding programs.
- Expertise in breeding techniques, genetic evaluation, and animal health management.
- Proficiency in data analysis and technology tools used in breeding operations.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
