Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  1. Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during client meetings, negotiations, and legal proceedings.
  2. Ensure accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation of legal discussions.
  3. Translate contracts, litigation documents, regulatory texts, and other legal materials with precision.
  4. Maintain the integrity of legal terminology and nuances in translation.
  5. Assist legal teams in reviewing and interpreting Chinese laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
  6. Support compliance efforts by ensuring translated documents align with legal standards.
  7. Ensure clarity and professionalism in all translated communications.
  8. Facilitate communication with Chinese-speaking clients regarding legal obligations and rights.
  9. Assist in explaining legal documents and procedures to clients in their native language.
  10. Ensure strict confidentiality in handling legal documents and sensitive information.
  11. Maintain organizing bilingual records of translated documents and legal materials.
  12. Assist with legal filings, notarizations, and documentation processes.
  13. Stay updated on changes in the legal industry and relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Law, or a related field.
  2. Certification in Chinese translation (preferred).
  3. Fluency in Mandarin and English (both written and spoken).
  4. Strong understanding of legal terminology and principles.
  5. Prior experience in legal translation or interpretation.
  6. Excellent attention to detail, professionalism, and discretion.
  7. Strong research and analytical skills.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  9. Experience working in a law firm or legal department will be an added advantage.
  10. Knowledge of international legal systems and regulatory frameworks.
  11. Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
